ok so ever since I was in highshool I have wanted to get into D&D AD&D and things of that nature. but I attended a catholic highschool which really did frown on such "demonic" things, and the kids there never did anything like that to begin with so I was kinda SOL on the whole "secret group of friends who meet up at comic book stores and play RPGs behind closed doors on friday nights" thing. so I stayed primarily with RPG video games. it wasn't untill about 3 months ago when I was talking about trying to find a group to start a gaming club with at college that someone over heard me and approached me with an offer for PathFinder, I had never heard of it but he said the rules were about the same as 3.5 AD&D played almost the same. I was intrigued and about a week later I had my first Pathfinder session. I made up my character and began to really like this character...but man did it take forever to even get started. this DM was so slow, he knew about the game and running one almost as much as I knew about playing. it took nearly 3 session meet ups to even get the game to start it was so slow.
oh yeah a warning: I know the gist of playing a RPG but Im still very much a Noob when it comes to actually knowing how to play, I know how my character works and how I use him...but playing and making it happen is another thing.
so after we finally got our characters written up and the game started moving albeit at a slow slow slow pace, I was really starting to enjoy it and wanted to do this every weekend (not just for the fun of playing the game but the actual human companions and working together as a team and trying to figure out problems together, it was all just awesome I loved it) but then the DM started to get burned out before we could even finish our first campaign (I was kinda hurt by it) and eventually he would invite me over to play with no intention of ever getting the game going. So I have started looking else ware for people like me or similar who are experienced table top Gamers, I would hope to salvage my Pathfinder character from that failed attempt at getting into the game. But it's like no one here in the Memphis area even cares about Table top gaming, so thats where I found this site and hope to change my luck.
