Gaming in the Greater Memphis Area

Here is a general list of gaming in the Greater Memphis Area (currently 205 registered people on our local list):

Every Wednesday, gaming alternates between a location in east Memphis/Cordova and north Memphis/Bartlett. Everyone is welcome to attend, as with the other events with the exception of the cons, no fee is charged for attending. Normal attendance can be anywhere from 5-16 people, I would say 9 on average.

1st Saturday of every month has gaming at Garibaldi's Pizza on Walker Ave (Gamesday West) and the 3rd Saturday has a yet to be determined Gamesday East (usually in Cordova but old location just moved). 2nd Saturday has Wargames Day off of Hacks Cross Rd at the Gamerz Depot, attendance varies greatly depending on what all is going on, it usually seems to me as more people show up on Wednesday nigths.

Gamecon (the Memphis gaming convention) was this past weekend, the 1st of the month. I hate you missed it as there were around 250 people there. Shadowcon (early January) and Midsouthcon (mid march) are also held here in Memphis and have large gaming turnouts, but they are not exclusively gaming.

If you're ever moving around I recommend going to www.boardgamegeek.com and searching for groups there, our local group MSBGC (Midsouth Strategy Board Gaming Community) is listed there. The group can be found on Yahoo.

If those board game meets are ongoing, make a thread on in that park of the forums and I'll sticky it so folks can ask questions etc.

If you could give us a rundown of Gamers Depot and what kind of tabletop stuff they have available in the Shops section, that would be much appreciated too.

Gamerz Depot is a full service gaming store.

We offer miniatures games (both regular and CMG), board games and Role Playing Games.

Everything in the store is 10% off list (because you have a friend in the game store business!). If you special order something and pre-pay, we give you 15% off. New releases, up until two weeks before release, pre-order and pre-pay, and you get *25%* off!

We are open 10:30am-2pm, and then we open again from 5pm-10pm, Monday through Friday. Saturdays are 10am until the last gamer leaves, which has been as late as 1am.

Our 2nd Saturday is reserved as Wargame Saturday, where we generally roll out the big games like Twilight Imperium. You know, the ones that take 90 minutes just to set up.

1st and 3rd Saturdays are generally tournament days. Uncharted Seas, Flames of War, 40k and WHFB and so on. We will be all too happy to accommodate Gamesday East as well.

The nights are hopping as well. A Blood Bowl league is underway right now. Tuesdays is FORGE (Fellowship of Role Gaming Enthusiasts) along with the last Saturday of the month. Wednesdays are Blood Bowl and D&D Encounters. Magic Constructed on Thursdays and Booster Draft on Friday.

If you want to just show up and game, that's great! We have a small library of store games that you can play for free.
