Well with my CCC finished, now it is on to painting the OPFor so that I can con someone into playing MERCs with me (well; I'll likely still build a table for it lol). The USCR were assembled at the same time as my Yellowjackets. I decided to build my own bases for this team to see if they would blend with the Resin ones I used with the CCC. USCR Commissar USCR Behemoth USCR Harpoon Sniper USCR Assault Monkeywrench I'm going to go back and do a very common conversion on my last USCR Model to give him a bare head (stolen from the CCC Assault model). More on that later. I've started with my basic plan. The models are primed black and then given a basecoat with Testors OD Green spray. The entire model is then dry brushed with 50/50 Citadel Catachan Green and Gretchin Green. I then blocked in the weapon with Citadel Adeptus Battlegrey and the armour with Astronomicon Grey. The base is covered with a watered layer of Khemri Brown. The whole figure is currently drying with a layer of 50/50 Citadel Leviathan Purple and Thraka Green wash. This is my 'transparent black' magic wash that I default to for dark colored models. More to come as I complete it!

The USCR is done! Unlike my CCC I didn't paint the models individually, settling instead for squad-painting them all at once. My home-made bases were augmented with some army-painter grass tufts. They were fun and quick to paint up. I may go back later and add some battle damage or other details, but they're ready to play with. Team shot of the 5 man Suppression Squad. The Commissar with his Ice Grenade pistol. The Behemoth. Sniper with his Javelin Launcher. USCR Medic USCR Monkeywrench So there's the team finished. That means my CCC and USCR teams are done. I'm thinking FCC will be next, as the other local MERCs player has settled on Kemvar, so I'll likley do them last. Thanks!
