Well JeremyRigged and I played two more games tonight. As they were different factions I'll start a thread for each game.
Tonights games were played on the excellent modular tiles from the DUST: Tactics game. Scenery is newly painted JR Miniatures fare (same as seen in the rulebook) and crates are also from DUST. All scenery painted by me.
Setup - CCC
Setup - KemVar
Turn 1
The firs turn is fairly unventful as everyone Bounds into position.
Turn 2
Kat busts out an Initiative of 10 and manages to S2C on a group of crates. She is JUST out of range of the Assault Leader and Monkeywrench. The Heavy is caught however, passing his armour roll and taking a Blood.
The Kemvar begin to lay down suppression in order to hopefully stop a follow up the turn after.
The CCC does the same down the pipe, with the Sniper putting a round automatically on the Heavy already burning.
The Assassin launches his charge on Kat, but rolls a 1 to hit! The KemVar heavy sets, fighting through the flames.
Turn 3 -
Kat AGAIN rolls a 10 for initiative!
This led us to first question of the night.
1) Kat's flamer can be fired in Melee (woohoo!). I chose to S2C and fire, putting the Assassin completely between myself and the Leader and Monkeywrench causing suppression. As this removes LOS (Full Cover) we assumed I did not have to test.
The fire torches the Heavy for another blood, breaking the armour of the Assassin as well.
This is followed up by the Medic moving into short range and putting two caps, flanking and short range, into the assassin. The Kemvar heavy puts up overwatch and the Monkeywrench and Leader put rounds into the Medic in retribution for the Assassin.
Turn 4 -
Supression keeps the head of the Kemvar Sniper firmly down, but the Heavy finally manages to Overwatch fire on Kat. Kat is wounded, but her return fire puts down the specialist for good.
The CCC Assault Leader makes a lunge for the two Kemvar, pinning them in place. If nothing else, this will forve the Issue for Kat to flank.
Kat wins the initiative and frys her own assault leader and the two offending Kemvar, at which point the game is conceded.
Suppression once again played a key part in keeping the Kemvar down long enough for Kat to do her thing. Kat's being able to torch the Assassin as a response to a charge was a big game changer!
